Bulgaria : Entry ban for person arriving from UK

On 20th December 2020, the Bulgarian Minister of Health issued Order 720/20.12.2020, temporary prohibiting the entry in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria of all persons, traveling from the point of departure in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, through all border crossing points by air, sea, rail and road transport starting at

00:00 on 21.12. 2020 to 31.01.2021.

The point of departure shall be the country from which the person departs, regardless of the stay related to his transit through other countries during his movement.

The prohibition will not apply only to Bulgarian citizens and persons with the status of permanent or long-term residence on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as members of their families, who upon arrival on the territory of the country will undergo a quarantine for a period of 10 days.

As from 00:00 on 22.12.2020:
- the transport personal engaged in international transport of passengers and goods is excluded from the entry ban;
- drivers of goods vehicles transiting the country or loading/unloading goods in the country in the course of international transport of goods are exempted from the quarantine requirement.
