Strike–abstention of customs officers from overtime work
PRESS RELEASES18 March 2026
The General Assembly of the Federation of Greek Customs Officers, at its meeting on March 9, 2026, unanimously decided to continue its mobilizations in the form of a strike–abstention from overtime work, at a time to be determined by the Executive Committee of the Federation.
The sector successfully participated in the fifteen-day strike–abstention from overtime work from February 16, 2026 to March 1, 2026, demanding the safeguarding of an eight-hour, five-day working schedule for every customs officer, and denouncing the normalization of unpaid overtime and shifts, which have now become standard practice as a means of intensifying work and uncontrollably violating our labor rights.
At the same time, they support the 24-hour sectoral strike declared for March 19, 2026 by the Panhellenic Federation of Employees of Public Financial Services.
